NHL Rumors: Vegas Golden Knights & Defenseman Far Apart on Negotiations
Although training camp is just about here, the Vegas Golden Knights still have not signed RFA Nicolas Hague. Things are unlikely to change on that front any time soon, either, as both parties "remain far apart in contract talks," according to David Pagnotta.
The Vegas Golden Knights and RFA D Nic Hague remain apart in contract talks. Hague's been back in Vegas, but if a deal isn't reached by the start of camp, he could return home to continue his on/off training there until a new agreement is in place.

Pagnotta also noted that if a contract is not finalized soon, Hague could return home to prepare for the regular season.
With Hague being an important part of Vegas' blue line, this is certainly not good news. The 6-foot-6 defenseman has been noted for his strong defensive play and physicality, so if he is not signed before the start of the regular season, he will be hard to replace.
The Golden Knights will need to find a way to get Hague signed from here. In 142 career games over three seasons with Vegas, he has 10 goals, 32 assists, and 42 points.
