Ottawa Senators Players Expecting Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2022-23
Ottawa Senators general manager Pierre Dorion may have won the NHL's offseason. The team made a number of 'going for it' type of moves and have added some young and veteran talent to their mix. Regardless, you can't win the Stanley Cup on paper, so we'll see how the games play out this season.
If you ask Senators youngster Tim Stutzle, expectation in the dressing room is to compete in the Stanley Cup Playoffs and be taken seriously around the league. He met with Dan Rosen of NHL.com and had this to say:
The expectations are high. The moves we made, the signings we made with Josh for long-term committing to that time, the talk about the new rink downtown, everything - the expectations are high. We want to show the fans that we're a good team, a young team, and we can really be a lot better than we played the last two years. We want to be in the playoffs, and I think that's why we made the moves. We talked about that in the exit meetings, too, that we have to make moves to be in the playoffs. They fully committed to that, so everyone is really happy to get back to Ottawa.

With Claude Giroux and Alex DeBrincat up front and Cam Talbot in net, look for the Sens to surprise this season and compete for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Sounds like anything less than that will be a disappointment.
