Sanheim is entering his final season and will have the opportunity to become a UFA next summer. Naturally, with the Flyers expected to be near the bottom of the NHL standings in 2022-23, speculation has already begun about the 6-foot-3 defenseman potentially being traded by the deadline. Yet, if Fletcher has his way, Sanheim will be a part of the team past this campaign.
Selected 17th overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Sanheim has played in 335 career games as a Flyer, where he has 29 goals, 87 assists, and 116 points.
