Philadelphia Flyers Release Forward from PTO

Antoine Roussel's time with the Philadelphia Flyers is over, as the winger has been released from his PTO.

On paper, Roussel and the Flyers seemed like a potential fit. The 32-year-old is known for playing a very physical game, and the Broad Street Bullies are famously known for that. Yet, his PTO did not lead to a contract, and now he will be looking for an opportunity elsewhere.

Roussel spent this past season with the Arizona Coyotes, where he scored four goals and had eight points. Overall, at this juncture of his career, he would probably serve best as a fourth-liner or 13th forward at the NHL level. It will be intriguing to see if he can find another chance elsewhere or head overseas.
