Pittsburgh Penguins Center Injured at Practice

Pittsburgh Penguins center Teddy Blueger left practice early on Wednesday due to an upper-body injury. The 28-year-old will be re-evaluated and an update on his condition should be announced shortly.

This is certainly a scary development for the Penguins. Blueger is a key part of Pittsburgh's lineup. He not only chips in fairly well offensively, but he is one of the club's top defensive forwards and penalty killers. Therefore, if he were to miss some regular-season time because of this injury, the Penguins would be starting the year with a notable hole in their lineup.

Blueger and the team will be hoping that he won't have to miss any notable time from here. The Latvian forward is coming off of a strong season where he scored nine goals and set a new career-high with 28 points.
