Positive Update On Vancouver Canucks' Ilya Mikheyev
Vancouver Canucks forward Ilya Mikheyev was recently deemed as being out week-to-week, but after getting a second opinion, things may be changing on that front. According to Rick Dhaliwal, Mikheyev could begin skating again as soon as Friday.

Nothing too concerning, could skate tomorrow.

Let's not sugarcoat it, this is great news for both Mikheyev and the Canucks. There were concerns that the 27-year-old may have suffered a torn ACL, but given this latest development, it appears that he may not miss much more time. Given the fact that he was one of Vancouver's top offseason additions, this is certainly what the team wanted to hear.
In 53 games this past season with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Mikheyev scored 21 goals and recorded a solid 32 points. It will be intriguing to see how he performs with the Canucks from here, but first, he of course will need to get 100% healthy before getting back into game action.
