San Jose Sharks Sign Defenseman to PTO
The San Jose Sharks have signed Scott Harrington to a professional tryout (PTO) contract.
Friday has been full of PTOs being signed, as Calvin de Haan (CAR), Zach Aston-Reese (TOR), and Danny DeKeyser (VAN) all signed them earlier. Now, Harrington has joined the party, and he will be aiming to earn a contract with the Sharks from here.
Harrington played in just seven games for the Columbus Blue Jackets this past season, where he had an assist to go along with a minus-4 rating. He primarily played with their AHL affiliate, the Cleveland Monsters, where he scored three goals and had seven points.
Harrington will be competing for a depth defenseman job with the Sharks, and at the end of the day, he may have a decent chance when looking at San Jose's blue line. In 210 career NHL games, the 29-year-old has seven goals, 31 assists, and 38 points.
