San Jose Sharks Trade Rumors: Thornton Reunion Might be Coming
While speaking with Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now, San Jose Sharks GM Mike Grier noted that "things are kind of up to" Joe Thornton when it comes to a potential reunion with the team.
Grier doesn't close the door on Thornton's on-the-ice return to #SJSharks: "Things are kind of up to him. I don't know if he wants to play or not play...when he figures that out, and his family figures that out, then I'm sure I'll have a conversation with him at some point."

Grier noted that he's unsure if Thornton wants to play, but it's also clear that the former isn't against the prospect of it. Thornton is one of the biggest legends in the team's history, so naturally, fans would love to see him retire as a Shark.
Playing for the Sharks is unlikely to get Thornton a Stanley Cup, but it would give him the chance to have his curtain call with the club he is most remembered playing for. Furthermore, he of course has been skating with the team.
Nevertheless, we will need to wait and see if something comes from Grier's quote from here.
