St. Louis Blues Defenseman Leaves Game Injured
St. Louis Blues defenseman Scott Perunovich left Tuesday's preseason game against the Chicago Blackhawks early due to an upper-body injury.
At the time of this writing, an update on Perunovich has not been announced by the Blues. No matter the case, this is certainly a rough development for the 24-year-old, as he is trying to cement himself a spot on their NHL roster. With that, he has had an abundance of injury trouble over his short career, and that has delayed his eventual full-time arrival in the NHL.
When healthy, Perunovich has played quite well and is deemed as one of the Blues' top prospects because of it. During his first professional season in 2022-23, he had 22 points in 17 contests with the Springfield Thunderbirds. With that, he also tallied six assists in 19 games with the Blues. Overall, it was a very good campaign for him, but he also missed a lot of time to injury.
Here's to hoping that Perunovich's removal from Tuesday's tilt was made out of caution by the Blues and that he will be good to go for the start of the season.
