Toronto Maple Leafs Defenseman Returns to Practice
It appears that Jake Muzzin is recovering well from his back trouble, as the veteran defenseman returned to practice on Wednesday for the team.
Muzzin sat out the last handful of practices due to his ongoing back issue. Although the 33-year-old would leave practice early, head coach Sheldon Keefe noted that it was out of precaution instead of necessity. With the regular season right around the corner (YES!), the Maple Leafs are playing things safely with the Woodstock native.
Muzzin is an important part of the Maple Leafs' backend, as he provides a nice mixture of solid defensive play, offense, leadership, and physicality. Here's to hoping he does not suffer any setbacks and can be in the lineup for the season opener.
