Toronto Maple Leafs Sign Defenseman
The Toronto Maple Leafs have re-signed Rasmus Sandin to a two-year, $2.8 million contract.
Sandin was the Maple Leafs' last remaining RFA, but now, they have finally signed the 2018 first-round pick to a new contract. This is certainly good news for the Leafs, as they are currently dealing with several injuries on the backend. Jake Muzzin, Timothy Liljegren, Jordie Benn, and Carl Dahlstrom are all dealing with injuries, so having Sandin for the start of the season is a big boost.
Sandin will be aiming to take advantage of the opportunity in front of him, as he could end up receiving top-four minutes at the start of the season. In 51 games this past season, the 22-year-old scored five goals and recorded 16 points.
