13-Year NHL Veteran Signs Overseas
Tyler Ennis has found his new home, but it is not in the NHL. Instead, the veteran forward has signed a one-year deal with SC Bern of Switzerland's National League.
It is a little surprising that Ennis was not able to find an NHL home for the 2022-23 season, as he just had a pretty solid campaign with the Ottawa Senators last year. In 57 games, he scored eight goals and recorded 24 points, so it's clear that he still was a solid secondary scorer. Yet, that wasn't enough for him to find a new home, and now he is heading overseas because of it.
Still, though, playing in a beautiful country like Switzerland isn't a bad deal at all. If this overseas signing marks the end of Ennis' career, he can hold his head high. In 700 career NHL games, the 33-year-old had 144 goals, 202 assists, and 346 points.
