Avalanche Claim Forward Off Waivers
The Colorado Avalanche have claimed Dryden Hunt off of waivers from the New York Rangers.
When it was announced that Hunt was hitting the waiver wire, it seemed likely that another club would claim him. The 26-year-old is a solid bottom-six forward who more importantly carries a very affordable $762,500 cap hit. With that, his very physical style of play should provide the Avalanche with a bit more bit, just like last season's waiver claim of Nicolas Aube-Kubel.
In three games this season, Hunt has a goal and 11 hits. Last season, he recorded 17 points and a whopping 153 hits in 76 games for the Rangers. With the Avalanche dealing with several injuries to their bottom six, it makes sense that they have claimed Hunt.
