Avalanche Star Has Knee Surgery; Out Long-Term
Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog has had knee surgery and will be out for the next 12 weeks because of it.
Landeskog has been dealing with this knee injury since last season and head coach Jared Bednar said last month that the star would not skate again for a while. Now, we have a better understanding of just how much time Landeskog has to miss, and it is certainly a massive blow for Colorado.
With Landeskog's estimated recovery time being 12 weeks, he will not return to game action until early-to-mid January. Given his immense importance to the club as their captain, the Avalanche will definitely miss him. In 51 games last season, he had 30 goals and 59 points.
