Blackhawks Given Brutal Injury News

The Chicago Blackhawks have been dealt some bad injury news, as Seth Jones will be out for the next three to four weeks with a thumb injury.

This is tough to hear, as the Blackhawks have been off to a surprisingly solid start in 2022-23. They currently sport a 4-3-1 record and are third in the Central Division. This is impressive when noting that they let go of several core players this offseason and are expected to be among the league's worst teams. However, now with Jones out, they are without their best defenseman. 

In eight games this season thus far, Jones has recorded four assists. In 78 games last season with the Original Six club, he scored five goals and recorded 51 points. Replacing this kind of offense from the point while he's gone will be extremely challenging, but we will have to wait and see how Chicago does from here.
