Blue Jackets Make Roster Moves

The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated Joonas Korpisalo off of injured reserve. With that, Nick Blankenburg has been placed on IR, retroactive to Oct. 23.

Korpisalo's return could not have come at a better time for both the Blue Jackets and himself. Fellow netminder Elvis Merzlikins has had a very rough start to the 2022-23 season, as he has a 2-3-0 record, 4.31 GAA, and .863 SV%. Although he certainly should bounce back during the year, having an experienced goalie back in Korpisalo provides them with more insurance.

Korpisalo will now be hoping to rebound from his disastrous 2021-22 campaign. In 22 games, he had a 7-11-0 record, .877 SV%, and 4.15 GAA. That was certainly below standards for the 28-year-old, so expect him to turn things around from here.
