Boston Bruins Place 3 Players on Waivers
The Boston Bruins have placed Oskar Steen, Connor Carrick, and Nick Wolff on waivers.
Steen was in the running to make the Bruins' NHL roster, but now the 24-year-old is hitting the waiver wire. The impressive play of fellow forwards like A.J. Greer, Mason McLaughlin, and Jack Studnicka at training camp is likely responsible for this. Steen recorded six points in 20 games for the Bruins last season and certainly could get claimed if a team is looking for some help in their bottom six.
Carrick was aiming to earn himself a job on the Bruins' roster, and it seemed possible given their injury trouble. Yet, the 28-year-old will be heading to the Providence Bruins, if he claims waivers, of course. In 241 career NHL games over seven seasons, he has 13 goals and 49 points.
Wolff could be a dark horse candidate to get claimed. The 6-foot-5 defenseman was physically dominant during preseason play, and teams looking for a bit more bite on their blueline could consider the prospect of adding him.
