Boston Bruins Provide Update on Brad Marchand
The Boston Bruins are off to a solid start this season as the team has overcome some major injury trouble and sits with a 6-1-0 record to start the 2022-23 campaign. While the current roster is getting the job done, it sounds like some reinforcements are on the way as forward Brad Marchand's status is improving in a major way.
Originally the diagnosis was that Marchand would be out until mid-November at the earliest, however it appears the healing process has been expedited and Marchand is feeling great with each practice. He was in a familiar spot Wednesday as Marchand practiced alongside Patrice Bergeron and Jake DeBrusk on the team's first line and saw time with the first power-play unit.
Head coach Jim Montgomery spoke to the media after practice and had this to say about his all-star winger:
I'd like to see [Marchand] tomorrow; that'd be five weeks ahead of schedule. don't expect him to play tomorrow, no. He's ahead of schedule. He's going to play before Thanksgiving (Nov. 24). As you can tell, he's starting to look good out there. His timing is starting to come. Whatever the doctors have said, it's hard to push that beyond a certain limit of your recovery time.
From what we can tell, expect to see Marchand in the lineup on Thursday when the Bruins host the Detroit Red Wings.
