Calgary Flames Place 6 Players on Waivers
The Calgary Flames have placed Matthew Phillips, Clark Bishop, Ben Jones, Colton Poolman, Nick DeSimone, and Oscar Dansk on waivers.
Out of the bunch, Phillips certainly stands out. Although the 5-foot-7 forward only appeared in one game for the Flames last season, he's coming off of an excellent season with the Stockton Heat. In 65 games with the AHL squad, he scored 31 goals and recorded 68 points. That kind of offensive success could lead to a team taking a chance on him.
As for the rest of the group, there waiver placements aren't all that surprising. They were not expected to make the Flames' roster, but that does not mean that they could not be decent additions for a team in need of some depth. Bishop and Jones both got into some NHL action last season, so perhaps they could be scooped up.
