Canadiens Defenseman Sent Down to AHL
The Montreal Canadiens have sent down Corey Schueneman back down to the AHL.
This demotion is a notable one, as it appears to be an indicator that Joel Edmundson is set to return for the Canadiens. This is big news, as Edmundson is one of Montreal's best defensemen due to his reliable defensive play and strong physicality. Therefore, getting him back is something that the Canadiens have to be excited about.
Schueneman has been with the NHL squad but has yet to make an appearance this season. The 27-year-old defenseman played in his first 24 NHL games last season, scoring two goals and recording six points. He will be aiming to produce well with the Laval Rocket, as it could be exactly what gets him another call-up in the near future.
