Canucks Defenseman Sent Down to AHL
The Vancouver Canucks have sent down Guillaume Brisebois to the AHL.
Although it is never a good thing for a player to be demoted, this news does indicate that the Canucks are getting some reinforcements to their blueline. The acquisition of Ethan Bear and Quinn Hughes on the verge of returning are responsible for this, so this is good news for the Canucks. However, it is important to note that Brisebois also did a solid job during his call-up and will likely get more chances with Vancouver as the year goes on because of it.
During his three-game call-up stint, Brisebois recorded his first career point, an assist, while sporting a plus-1 rating. This was promising to see from the 25-year-old defenseman, and it will be intriguing to see what he does with the Canucks' AHL squad from here.
