The NHL felt the high location of contact and the clear purposeful nature of Kuznetsov's stick swing towards Burroughs was clearly dangerous and so unnecessary that it was enough to warrant a suspension.Caps' Evgeny Kuznetsov awaits Player Safety ruling for High-Stick on Canucks' Burroughs: https://t.co/Bcb7f6yL7p pic.twitter.com/lKAG1xMkgA

Kuznetzov is no stranger to discipline from the NHL, as he's been previously fined by the league. He will miss Thursday's game against the Ottawa Senators, but he is eligible to return on Saturday for the team's game against the Los Angeles Kings.
He has four assists through four games played this season.
