Blackhawks Defenseman Set to Return
The Chicago Blackhawks are getting a boost, as Jake McCabe has been activated off injured reserve and is expected to play in Friday's contest against the Detroit Red Wings.
McCabe had cervical spine surgery that restricted him from participating in training camp, but he is now ready to go. The 29-year-old is quietly coming off of a solid season that saw him score four goals and set a new career-high with 22 points. Now that he is good to go for Chicago, he will surely serve as a member of their top four.
If McCabe can have another strong season in 2022-23, the Blackhawks may look to take advantage of his trade value and deal him for a sweet return. It will be intriguing to see what happens on that front, but for now, the Blackhawks are officially getting one of their best players back.
