Columbus Blue Jackets Forward Placed on Waivers

The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed Brendan Gaunce on waivers.

Gaunce proved to be a solid depth forward for the Blue Jackets last season. This was nice to see, as he did not appear in a single NHL game in 2020-21 and only played in four games over the two seasons before that. Yet, he seemed to find a place with the Blue Jackets in 2021-22, as he had five goals and seven points in 30 contests.

With the Blue Jackets improving their forward group this offseason, that, unfortunately, made Gaunce expendable. Thus, his placement on waivers isn't too surprising. If he goes unclaimed, he will be reporting to the Cleveland Monsters and should be a solid contributor for them.
