Columbus Blue Jackets Star Out 3 to 4 Weeks
The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced that Patrik Laine has suffered an elbow sprain and will be out for the next three to four weeks because of it. With that, the team has placed him on IR for the time being.
Losing Laine for a handful of weeks at the very beginning of the season is certainly not ideal. The Blue Jackets are a team aiming to make a push for a playoff spot this season, as they of course added Johnny Gaudreau to their roster this summer. Therefore, getting wins at the beginning of the year is crucial for them, but now they must do that without one of their best players in Laine.
Laine started the season off strongly, too, as he scored a goal on opening night. Yet, now his solid start has to be put on pause due to his latest injury. Here's to hoping that he recovers quickly and can get back into game action in three weeks as his estimated recovery time says.
