Coyotes to Terminate Defenseman's Contract
The Arizona Coyotes have placed Lukas Klok on unconditional waivers for the purpose of mutual contract termination.
Klok had just signed a deal with the Coyotes this offseason after an excellent 31-point campaign in 44 games with Nizhnekamsk Neftekhimik of the KHL in 2021-22. After a year like this, there was some belief that he could compete for a spot on the Coyotes' NHL roster given how weak it is. Yet, the 27-year-old was cut during training camp and started the year with the Tuscon Roadrunners.
Now, after just four games as a Roadrunner, Klok's time with the Coyotes organization is coming to a close. Assuming he clears unconditional waivers, we should see Klok sign with a new team rather quickly - most likely overseas.
