Detroit Red Wings Forward Expected to be Ready for Season
While speaking with the media, Detroit Red Wings head coach Derek Lalonde said that he expects Andrew Copp will be good to go for the team's season opener.
This is certainly the kind of boost that the Red Wings needed for the start of the season. Copp was one of Detroit's big offseason additions, and fans naturally are excited to see what the 28-year-old hometown kid can do. He is coming off a strong season split between the Winnipeg Jets and New York Rangers that saw him score 21 goals and record 53 points in 72 games.
The Red Wings are aiming to get back into the playoff picture in 2022-23 and need to be healthy for that to have any chance of happening. Thus, Copp likely being available for game one of the season is big.
