Edmonton Oilers Hire 3-Time Stanley Cup Champion
Duncan Keith is back with the Edmonton Oilers but now as a player. Instead, the 39-year-old has been hired in a Player Development role.
Keith announced his retirement this summer after a lone season with the Oilers. The 17-year veteran had immense success in the sport's most competitive league. In 1,192 career games between the Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton, he had 105 goals, 520 assists, and 625 points. With that, he won three Stanley Cups, the Norris Trophy twice, and was a three-time All-Star. Now, he is starting his career off the ice.
Keith is exactly the kind of a former player that the Oilers should be bringing around. They are aiming to win the Stanley Cup, so why not hire someone who has done it numerous times and is already familiar with the team?
