Edmonton Oilers Place 2 Players on Waivers

The Edmonton Oilers have placed Slater Koekkoek and Calvin Pickard on waivers.

Koekkoek took a leave of absence from the Oilers, so this waiver placement isn't surprising. In 19 games last season with the team, he had four assists and a plus-2 rating. We here at NHLTR would like to wish him the best as he continues his leave of absence from the club. 

As for Pickard, this waiver placement was expected. The Oilers have Jack Campbell and Stuart Skinner as their one-two punch heading into the year, so there was simply no room for Pickard on their NHL roster. In 116 career games, he has a 35-54-10 record, .903 SV%, and 3.04 GAA.
