Edmonton Oilers Place 2 Players on Waivers
The Edmonton Oilers have placed Mattias Janmark and Dmitri Samorukov on waivers.
Janmark, who just inked a one-year, $1.25 million contract with the Oilers this offseason, was expected to have a bottom-six role with the club. Yet, it appears that he did not leave much of an impression at training camp, thus leading to his fairly surprising waiver placement. In 67 games last season with the Vegas Golden Knights, he had nine goals to go along with 25 points.
Samorukov, on the other hand, could certainly get some attention on the waiver wire. The 6-foot-3 defenseman just put together an 18-point campaign for the Bakersfield Condors last season. With that, his physical play and young age (23) definitely could lead to another club taking a chance on him.
