Florida Panthers Star Defenseman Leaves Game Injured
During Monday night's loss to the Boston Bruins, Florida Panthers star defenseman Aaron Ekblad left the game early due to a lower-body injury. Head coach Paul Marice also noted that Ekblad will be reevaluated on Tuesday.
This is horrible news for the Panthers, as Ekblad is the club's best defenseman by a country mile. Yet, things are even worsened when remembering that Brandon Montour is also sidelined. With that, Florida's defense is looking weaker this campaign, given the fact that they traded MacKenzie Weegar as well. Thus, Ekblad's potential absence is a very frightening one.
Ekblad is coming off a season that saw him score 15 goals and record a career-high 57 points in only 61 games. Here's to hoping that the 26-year-old's injury is only a minor one and that he will be back in game action shortly.
