Flyers Forward Out Indefinitely
The Philadelphia Flyers have started the year hot, as they surprisingly sport a 4-2-0 record in their six games. However, they have now been dealt some truly bad news, as James van Riemsdyk is out indefinitely due to a broken finger that requires surgery.
With the Flyers aiming to maintain their hot start and prove their critics wrong, losing van Riemsdyk is a notable blow. The 33-year-old winger is one of Philadelphia's top scorers and has had a strong start to the 2022-23 campaign. In six games, he has two goals to go along with five points. Now, the Flyers will be without his scoring long-term.
JVR is viewed as one of the Flyers' top trade candidates if they fall back down to Earth and are out of the playoff race by deadline time. Therefore, they will be hoping that he can return soon for more reasons than one. Here's to hoping that JVR has a speedy recovery from here.
