Kraken Sign Goalie
The Seattle Kraken have signed Christopher Gibson to a one-year, two-way contract. At the NHL level, he will carry a $750,000 cap hit.
Seeing the Kraken add to their goalie depth is not surprising in the slightest, as they are dealing with multiple injuries at the position. At the time of this writing, Philipp Grubauer and Chris Driedger are both sidelined. Due to this, the club called up Joey Daccord to the NHL roster, so their AHL squad needed another netminder. Now, they officially have that in Gibson.
After failing to earn a contract with the Arizona Coyotes through a PTO during training camp, Gibson signed a PTO with the Kraken's AHL affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds. Now, he officially has a contract for the season.
