Los Angeles Kings Release Forward from PTO
The Los Angeles Kings are parting ways with Nate Thompson, as the veteran forward has been released from his PTO.
After failing to garner interest during the height of free agency, Thompson settled for a PTO with the Kings shortly before the start of training camp. The 38-year-old was a familiar face to the organization, having spent the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons with them. Yet, he, unfortunately, has not earned himself a contract with them for 2022-23 and will be hoping for a job before the start of the season.
Thompson is coming off of a three-point campaign in 33 games with the Philadelphia Flyers. Offensively, he is not much of a factor, but his solid defensive play and physical nature could lead to a two-way deal elsewhere. We will need to wait and see what happens with him from here.
