Maple Leafs Rumors: GM Discussing Multiple Trades
The Toronto Maple Leafs are banged up to start the season. The team started the year without defensemen Timothy Liljegren and Jordie Benn and on Monday night against the Arizona Coyotes, Jake Muzzin left with a neck injury.
Considering Muzzin's recent history with concussion problems last season, there's a chance this could be something that keeps him out of the lineup for an extended period of time. Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas has been shopping forward Wayne Simmonds and the talks may intensify and grow, considering how thin the Maple Leafs blue line is getting.
Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman confirmed last weekend that the Leafs were talking about acquiring a defenseman who was likely recently cut from their team before training camp and sent through waivers. These talks could turn into much more as Muzzin likely hits the IR and both Benn and Liljegren remain out of the lineup for the time being. The Chicago Blackhawks, San Jose Sharks, Seattle Kraken and New Jersey Devils are teams to watch who may be interested in making an early move this season.
