New Jersey Devils Captain Set to Return

After a bad 5-2 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on opening night, the New Jersey Devils are now getting some good news thrown their way. Nico Hischier has been activated and will be available for Saturday's game against the Detroit Red Wings. 

This is excellent news for the Devils, as Hischier is an immensely important part of the team's forward group. The 23-year-old center is coming off of a season that saw him set new career highs with 21 goals, 39 assists, and 60 points in 70 games. Now, he will be aiming to carry over that kind of success into 2022-23.

The Devils are looking to take a step in the right direction this season. They have a nice blend of young players and veterans but will need players like Hischier to be healthy if they want to make a push for the postseason. Thankfully, the captain is back!
