New Jersey Devils Place 4 Players on Waivers
The New Jersey Devils have made a series of cuts to their training camp roster, as Tyler Wotherspoon, Robbie Russo, Joseph Gambardella, and Jeremy Groleau have each been placed on waivers.
Wotherspoon has not appeared in the NHL since the 2016-17 season when he was a member of the Calgary Flames. This past season with the Utica Comets, the 6-foot-2 defenseman scored three goals and recorded 21 points.
Russo also played for the Comets this past season and quietly put up solid offensive totals from the point. In 70 games, he scored three goals and had an impressive 32 assists.
Gambardella played 15 games for the Edmonton Oilers in 2018-19 and has yet to return to the sport's most competitive league since. This past season with the Comets, he scored 10 goals and had 31 points in 65 games.
The only player from this list who has yet to play in an NHL game, Groleau will be aiming to build on his development in 2022-23 with the Comets. In 50 games with the team last year, the 22-year-old had two goals and nine points.
