New Jersey Devils Send Top Prospect to AHL
The New Jersey Devils have sent down Simon Nemec to the AHL. With that, they have called Kevin Bahl back up to the NHL roster.
It seemed that Nemec would start the season with the Devils, but the top prospect will instead be with the Utica Comets. The 2022 second-overall pick should end up receiving big minutes with the Comets, which in turn, should help with his progression. The 18-year-old played in 39 games with Nitra MHC of the Slovak League last season, where he had a goal and 25 assists.
Bahl, on the other hand, played in 17 games for the Devils last season, where he had a goal and three assists. The 6-foot-6 defenseman primarily played with the Utica Comets, however, recording 16 points in 54 games.
