New York Islanders Defenseman Placed on IR

The New York Islanders have placed Sebastian Aho on injured reserve. With this, he will be out for the next week at least.

At the time of this writing, Aho's specific injury has not been revealed, but there's optimism that this could be a short-term one. The 26-year-old defenseman has been at practice, after all.

Aho is aiming to cement himself as a full-time NHL defenseman this season for the Islanders. He is coming off of a season that saw him score two goals and record 12 points in 36 games with the team. Overall, this wasn't bad production from the 2017 fifth-round pick, and now his goal will be to replicate it in 2022-23. Here's to hoping he can get back into game action shortly.
