New York Rangers Place 2 Players on Waivers
The New York Rangers have made two more cuts, as Tim Gettinger and Andy Welinski have been placed on waivers.
Gettinger was a dark horse candidate to make the Rangers' bottom six, but due to their depth, he had a lot working against him. Now, the 24-year-old is destined to start the season in the AHL - unless another team decides to pick him up off waivers. In 45 games last season with the Hartford Wolf Pack, the 6-foot-6 winger had 10 goals and 25 points. He also went pointless in eight NHL contests.
Welinski, on the other hand, has not played in an NHL game since the 2020-21 season as a member of the Anaheim Ducks. In 46 career games in the league's most competitive league, he has a goal and five assists.
