NHL Rumors: 2 Head Coaches Already on the Hot Seat
The 2022-23 NHL season is not even a couple weeks old and there's already been some rumblings about coaching changes. A few teams have started slow out of the gates and their seats behind the bench have been heating up with every loss.
According to several industry sources, Lindy Ruff in New Jersey and Bruce Boudreau in Vancouver are two coaches who could be axed first. At this rate you could put Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe into the mix as he continues to call out his players to start this season.
As for the Devils, they have started the season 0-2 and have only scored four times, meanwhile allowing 10. The Canucks on the other hand have started the season 0-3 and have held leads in each of their first three losses. The Canucks' players held a players-only meeting after Monday's loss to the Washington Capitals, a signal they could be losing confidence in their coaching staff.
Keep an eye on Ruff and Boudreau as both coaches are going to need to win some hockey games, and soon, if they want to keep their job for the entire 2022-23 season.
