NHL Rumors: Canadiens Linked to Kings Defenseman

The Los Angeles Kings are reportedly open to moving one of their right-handed defensemen. Sean Walker's name has been floating around, and there certainly should be interest in the 27-year-old. According to Montreal Hockey Now's Marco D'Amico, the Montreal Canadiens are on the hunt for a right-handed defenseman, and Walker could be a good target for them because of it.

It wouldn't be surprising to see the Kings trade Walker, as they have plenty of right-handed defensemen. It is a position of strength for the Kings, and they could use Walker to help improve their roster elsewhere. With Los Angeles also having Drew Doughty, Brandt Clarke, Sean Durzi, and Matt Roy, someone will have to eventually go.

On Montreal, Walker would surely compete for a spot in their top four given their weak defensive depth. Although he missed all but six games last season due to a season-ending injury, the Keswick native was emerging as a top defenseman for LA before it. Assuming he can find his old form, he would be a strong addition to the Canadiens' roster, so let's see if there could be a match here.
