NHL Rumors: Canucks Winger Becoming Prime Trade Candidate
Heading into the 2022-23 season, the Vancouver Canucks were expected to compete for a playoff spot. Yet, they have been horrendous to start the season, sporting a 0-4-2 record. This kind of dreadful start is naturally creating speculation over the futures of some of their players, and Conor Garland may be the biggest example of this.
Garland was talked about often last season in the rumor mill once the Canucks drastically changed their management group. This was still the case even though he recorded a solid 52-point season in 77 games last season. This season has been off to a very rocky start, as Garland found himself as a healthy scratch. NHL insider Darren Dreger recently commented on this noting that he believes that Garland is not a fit with Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau.
Given all the rumors that have been surrounding Garland, one has to wonder if a trade will finally occur. The Canucks need to improve on defense, and Garland could be a good enough player to land them a solid top-four d-man. Let's see what happens from here.
