NHL Rumors: Capitals Linked to Hurricanes Defenseman
According to Elliotte Friedman, the Washington Capitals have expressed interest in Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Ethan Bear.
Friedman noted that the Capitals first pursued Bear at this summer's entry draft, but a move, of course, did not come to fruition. However, with a Bear trade appearing to be imminent, who's to say that the Capitals won't make another attempt to bring in the right-handed defenseman.
Bear has yet to play in a game this season for the Hurricanes. In 58 games last year with the team, he had five goals to go along with nine assists. If acquired by the Capitals, he would provide them with another bottom-pairing option, as well as a potential power-play weapon. Let's see if a move between the two Metropolitan Division rivals occurs from here.
