NHL Rumors: Ducks Defenseman Becoming Prime Trade Candidate

The Anaheim Ducks have started the season off slowly, as they sport a 1-3-0 record. If this trend continues, they naturally will be sellers at the deadline, and one name who will surely be shopped is John Klingberg.

Klingberg settled for a one-year deal with the Ducks this offseason after not receiving a long-term contract that he deemed acceptable. This is clearly a prove-it deal for the offensive defenseman, so he will be aiming to have a big campaign in Anaheim. If he does but the Ducks continue to struggle, he very well could net them a nice return at the deadline. Therefore, this has the potential to be a win-win for both parties.

In four games this season with the Ducks so far, Klingberg has two assists and a minus-2 rating. Expect to see those totals go up nicely, as the 30-year-old has far more to play for this campaign.
