NHL Rumors: Islanders & Blackhawks Emerging as Trade Candidates

Since the Patrick Kane trade rumors started, the New York Rangers have been linked to the superstar winger. Yet, according to Pierre LeBrun, there is also a decent possibility that we see Kane dealt to the New York Islanders.

With this, perhaps we will see a bidding war for Kane's services between the two New York rivals? There's no question that the Islanders need offense, as that is what kept them out of the playoffs last year. Mathew Barzal's offensive numbers have taken a hit due to the lack of scoring touch around him, but Kane would naturally help remedy this situation.

As we get closer to the deadline, don't be surprised to see the Islanders make a big push for Kane if they remain in the playoff race. He's the superstar they need, so let's see if it can come to fruition.
