NHL Rumors: Kraken Defenseman to be Shopped

The Seattle Kraken are expected to be near the bottom of the NHL standings yet again this season, so it seems more likely than not that they will be sellers at the deadline. Assuming this does come to fruition, one defenseman who will surely be shopped is Carson Soucy.

The Kraken were listening to offers on Soucy last season as well so that only heightens his chances of being dealt. Yet, more importantly, he is a pending UFA on a team not expected to compete for a Stanley Cup, so he is a prime rental candidate.

There certainly will be interest in the 6-foot-5 defenseman as well. He is coming off of a season that saw him hit new career highs with 10 goals and 21 points. That is not bad production from the point at all, but more importantly, he is also very reliable defensively. Therefore, expect Seattle to take advantage of his trade value and get a nice return for him.
