NHL Rumors: Patrick Kane to New York Rangers Heating Up
For much of this offseason, Chicago Blackhawks superstar Patrick Kane has been linked to the New York Rangers. The Blueshirts having his old friend Artemi Panarin and being Stanley Cup contenders are major reasons behind it. Popular NHL insider Frank Seravalli added more fuel to this rumor in his latest bold predictions piece for Daily Faceoff, as he said that Kane will not only be traded there but also sign a long-term extension.
Obviously, this is a bold predictions piece, so it is nowhere close to being set in stone. Yet, given all the noise surrounding the possibility of Kane joining the Rangers, it certainly is a fun prediction. The Rangers have several young players and prospects who could work in such a deal, keep in mind. With that, Kane would thrive if traded to the Blueshirts because he would have far more weapons to work with.
Kane is coming off of another excellent season where he played for a bad Blackhawks team. In 76 games, the future Hall of Famer scored 26 goals and recorded 92 points. Adding that kind of production to the Rangers' lineup would be excellent and could put them over the top, so let's see if Seravalli's predicition comes to fruition.
