NHL Rumors: Philadelphia Flyers Likely to Trade Winger

According to Gustav Elvin of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Philadelphia Flyers are likely to move James van Riemsdyk before this year's trade deadline.

This isn't too outrageous of an idea, as van Riemsdyk is now in the final season of his contract. With that, not too many people believe that the Flyers are going to compete for a playoff spot this year. If that holds true come deadline time, JVR is a prime rental candidate and should certainly get some attention on the block.

JVR is coming off of a season that saw him score 24 goals and record 38 points in 82 games. For his standards, it was a bit of a down year, but it is still solid that he hit the 20-goal plateau yet again. Teams in need of some help on the power play and with their scoring should give Philadelphia a call later this season.
