Oilers Forward Sent Down to AHL
The Edmonton Oilers have made a roster move. Carter Savoie has been activated off the club's injured non-roster list and sent down to the Bakersfield Condors.
Savoie is now set to begin his first full season at the professional level. The 20-year-old center played his first two games with the Condors last season, where he had zero points. He was truly dominant at the collegiate level this past season, though, as he had 23 goals and 45 points in 39 contests - thus leading to his decision to begin his professional career.
Savoie is a prospect on the rise, and Oilers fans should watch how the fourth-round pick performs with the Condors from here. If he can translate his scoring touch from the NCAA to the AHL, he could be a call-up option for Edmonton in the near future.
